What’s Making Me Happy {8}

I can finally tell you the vague thing I’ve been taunting you with for, like, ever.

Ok, let’s do this!

I am officially the new assistant editor at It Books, HarperCollins.

So yeah. I’ve been doing the new job happy dance since, basically last week, when I received the tentative offer. And I’m SO RELIEVED that I’m finally able to go public with the news.

Because I’m pretty much the worst secret-keeper ever.

This is still insane to me. And totally, completely happy making.

And though my new job is making me very happy this week, there are some other things making me happy, too.

1. Dance Academy

Back in November, right after Thanksgiving, I was not in a happy place. So I spent about four days moping around my apartment, being all Bella Swan. And then I found this Australian show on Netflix called Dance Academy. It’s basically Center Stage, but in Australia. Now since I spent pretty much fifteen years of my life in a dance studio, I will absolutely watch any and every dance movie/documentary/show available. So I started watching Dance Academy and blew through the first season in, like, two days. AND NOW THERE ARE NEW EPISODES ON NETFLIX, OMG.

I love this show.

I am also exceedingly excited about The CW’s new summer series, Breaking Pointe.

2. My Impending Apartment Redesign

So, both of my roommates are moving out of our apartment, and with them all of the living room, dining room, and kitchen furniture is leaving too. Which means that I have to refurnish and redecorate. While this is a little bit stressful due to the fact that I have to buy stuff, and stuff is expensive. BUT! I also get to REDESIGN the apartment!

You better believe I set up a Pinterest board full of ideas and color palettes and possible furniture pieces. Now I just need to decide on a direction and GO GO GO.

3. Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford are married!

There are so many things I like about this. Mostly that they were childhood pen pals. And that COLIN FIRTH attended their wedding. And that I can call them “Mumfordigan.” Also, um, Marcus Mumford is 24. Which means I am older than him. For some reason that really freaks me out.

4. The Revenge Boys

This picture is the best. THE BEST. It’s impossible to look at it and not be ridiculously happy.
